Located in the heart of Dublin's hip Temple Bar district, Meeting House Square is a unique outdoor street venue. Hidden away off Essex Street, as you walk through the passageway that leads to Meeting House Square, you feel as though you are entering into a secret world. The plaza offers regular events, cinema screenings, performances, and product launches. It features a retractable roof that protects the audience from what is otherwise the curse of outdoor events in Ireland -- rain!
Meeting House Square food market - every Saturday
Every Saturday from 10am to 4.30pm, Meeting House Square attracts Dublin's food lovers, as the plaza comes alive with stall after stall of fresh produce and delicious home-made treats.
Movie screenings, some free and some for fee-paying, have become popular events for family and friends. They are also enjoyed by many visitors and students, and they offer an alternative to events that are sometimes all-too dominated by the pub scene.
Music and Culture
Other cultural events held in the square range from jazz sessions to poetry recitals.
Special Christmas and New Year's events are an annual happening. More recently, the Chinese New Year has seen an colourful annual celebration that is popular among Dublin's increasingly diverse citizenry.
