Lismore Heritage Centre is located in the former courthouse of the heritage town of Lismore, County Waterford. The story of Lismore dates from 636 AD and the Heritage Centre offers two simple audio/visual presentations (one for adults, the other for children) on Lismore's history, narrated by Irish comedian and actor Niall Tóibín. A fee is required to watch these presentations -- which are not mandatory.
The centre also houses a fine crafts / gift shop, featuring local products.
Children and Families
The Heritage Centre is also popular with school groups and families, offering Mobile Science Workshops and accommodating school tours, as well as Summer and Easter camps. As well as offering the audio/visual presentation, guides at the centre will take you on a tour of Lismore town at set times during the day. Tickets include entry into Lismore Castle Gardens. See the official site (below) for more details / prices, and for group bookings.
