Sneem Church and Cemetery

Sneem Anglican Church, built in 1810, is also known as the Church of the Transfiguration. The church’s weathervane is in the shape of a salmon, testifying to the high-quality salmon found by fishermen on that portion of Ireland’s Atlantic Coast.

Located on the Iveragh Peninsula, and a popular attraction for visitors following the Ring of Kerry route, the cemetery on the grounds of Sneem Church is the burial site of former Irish president Cearbhaill O'Dalaigh.

The Church of the Transfiguration is one of two actively-used churches in Sneem Village, the other being St. Michael's Roman Catholic church.
